The lotus flower is rooted in the murkiest and darkest parts of the lake. Each night it returns to the comfort of the muck— each morning... emerges with purity. Individuals recovering from trauma or addiction often find themselves rooted in life's darkest shadows, yearning for the sun's return. We're here to bridge the gap.
Who?
Sheathed is a nonprofit initiative created through the collaborative efforts of passionate community members who share one common goal—serving our community.
Why?
The founder, and many of the board members, trustees, and volunteers have all experienced the dark side of life—sheathed by trauma, addiction, and tragedy. Like the lotus flower, each has found the light again through hard work, purposeful goals, individual healing strategies, and a dedication to becoming a better version of themselves. This initiative is a collective effort to walk beside others.
There is more than one way to recover; however, maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires much more than abstinence from substances and graduating from court-ordered classes. These modalities are important, but then what? That’s where we begin our work.
